FULL SERVICE DESIGN PROJECT
When you hire Sarah Sim Intentional Interiors for a full-service design, we will put the same passion and dedication toward any space—whether it is a single room, kitchen or bathroom, a group of rooms, a whole house or commercial space—from initial ideas and concept sketches to the completion of a beautiful, functional, well aligned and balanced, professionally designed interior! We engage the client in the process every step of the way. We will meet on a regular basis to make sure work is progressing on schedule, the budget is being met, and any concerns are being addressed AND resolved! The intensity of your involvement into design questions can be adjusted due to personal preference.
SERVICES include, but are not limited to:
Project management, cooperation and meetings with vendors, contractors, architects, builders and installers
My 5-STEP-DESIGN PROCESS:
STEP I. Initial Assessment and Planning:
Initial in-home consultation to discuss client goals and visions, budget and timeline
Taking photos and measurements of the space
Architectural drawings of existing floor plan with dimensions
Design Proposal - this can be by email, but is generally better in person, and works best if everyone involved (i.e. all the adults who will be living in the space) are present.
STEP II. Schematic Design: In this phase, my creativity is in full swing - I will develop multiple options of design schemes!
Preliminary sketches and ideas for space planning, furniture layout, different interior styles, color palettes, materials and finishes
3-5 digital design concept boards to visualize those ideas in an organized manner
Client presentation in which we decide on three different concepts I will further work on.
STEP III. Design Development: In this phase, I further develop the 3 chosen design concepts from the schematic design phase
Revised drawing set of 3 different layouts selected by client, including lighting plan, elevations and 3D sketches (Sketchup)
Selection of color, furniture and materials, artwork, plants and accessories. . . the whole scope of my “design packages”!
Vendor visits, online research, trips to the Boston Design Center
3 digital concept boards to show different items, materials, colors etc.
Client presentation, in which we decide on one final concept for the space and make final revisions.
STEP IV. Specifications and Construction Documents: In this phase, I assemble specifications and schedules that provide clear instructions on implementation of the design to your contractor/builders/installers.
One final drawing set for the space, including furniture layout, rug placement, lighting plan, plumbing plan, elevations and 3D sketches
Cooperation with contractors/builders/painters to assure exact implementation of the design
Drafting spreadsheets of purchase orders for furniture, materials, accessories, plumbing, and lighting fixtures
Purchase of items, disclosure contracts with local vendors
STEP V. Construction/Installation: In this phase, I oversee ongoing construction and installation of items in the home.
Frequent visits at the building site
Communication with builders and installers
Coordination of delivery and installation of any purchased items - your new furnishings, accessories and artwork!
After the installation, I will walk you through your new space to make sure the project has met or exceeded your expectations!
